OTSEGO BAND BOOSTERS

Otsego Band Booster meetings are held on the first Monday of the month unless otherwise noted. Meetings are held in the Otsego High School Band room at 7:00pm for all High School and Middle School parents. Meetings include valuable information concerning the future of the band program, upcoming events, and areas of concern. Please join us and bring your suggestions and ideas. We look forward to seeing you there.

The Executive Board consists of four elected officers and the directors of the instrumental music department. Officers of this organization are to be elected for a one-year term at the annual spring meeting.

President

The president will preside at all meetings of the organization and of the executive board, call regular and special meetings as provided by the by-laws.

It is the president’s duty to make emergency decisions that may arise, to hold until the next meeting of the executive board, or a general membership meeting.

The president appoints all committees and is an ex-officio member of all committees, however not required to attend committee meetings.

Vice President

The Vice President performs all the duties of the president in the event of the president’s absence, inability, disability, resignation, and to assist the president.

The Vice President resides over all fundraiser activities, to provide the chairperson responsible for the activity of fundraiser and to provide up-dated information to the executive board.

Treasurer

The Treasurer pays all obligations incurred by the association, supervise and keep a written report of all transactions and present reports at business each meeting.

The Treasurer works with all fundraising committee chairs and is responsible for all funds due the organization.

The Treasurer provides information necessary for the executive board to establish the yearly booster budget – due in June.

Fundraising events: provide starting cash; each evening collect, count and deposit money.

Band Camp – take in, count and deposit money.

Secretary

The Secretary keeps a record of the proceedings of general meetings and meetings of the executive board.

The Secretary is responsible for correspondence relative to the organization.

The Secretary constructs and distributes the monthly newsletters

Committee Members

Members at large may become a committee chairperson, designated by the president and may be present at various executive board meetings. Members in this capacity serve only in an advisory role, unless designated by the executive board, and then they may become a voting member of the executive board.

Band Booster Mission
The mission of the Otsego Band Boosters is to cooperate with those in charge of the instrumental music department and to keep and bring this program to its highest degree of excellence; to arouse and maintain an enthusiastic interest in the various phases of the instrumental music department of the Otsego Public Schools; and to provide money and physical support for those music projects which are elected by the membership and directors.
